Naga NEWS: (March 15, 22)
It's
almost impossible to regroup the old Naga cadres of the late NSCN-Khaplang faction,
especially to re-unite the high-level ranking cadres of the K. group as all of
them are old persons scattering in different places. It is also
difficult to recruit new young Nagas to join the militant training course to fight Tatmadaw as
there is no leadership and no budget to operate the work.
We quoted the above report from a senior Naga cadre (late last week) who is royal to the
late NSCN- Khaplang, now living with his relative at Tamanthi town, and can reach by smartphone.
He said that the former stronghold of K. group at Taka Sakan area, some 80 kilometers south of Nanyun Township, which was destroyed and occupied by Tatmadaw forces over two years ago, now is vacant. Myanmar forces do not station there. They reported most of the food supplies were transported by helicopter as it takes the whole day to supply by boat along Chindwin River at the Tamanthi town up to Taga Sakan.

The
existing Naga cadres, scattering here and there somewhere in Sagaing Region do
not recruit new cadres. It will take several months to train each batch of new
cadres and will cost more than $2,500 plus for each new cadre. The budget will
go for AK-rifle or M-16 ammo, and other military devices and about $80
monthly salary for each cadre that will go for soap, toothpaste, and others, he
said.

After the
dismantling of the stronghold of K. group in Taga which
also destroyed other groups of Manipuri rebels and ULFA group and UNLFW
headed by ULFA rebel chief, Paresh Barua. Taga Region is not a safe place for any armed groups to stay. After the demise of Khaplang, nobody can control the
IIGs, so Tatmadaw had to destroy this headquarters, the report said.
And the
new sites or guests houses in Baoshan that replaced Taga. They are in the valley
and the atmosphere is much better than Taga Sakan. It is 100% safe; they provide the living document. The second guest
house is at Nujiang, the upper part of
Baoshan.
Anyhow, the
two sites are far away from Naga communities- the best places for Nagas to live should
be at Naga Hills, or Somra Hill Tract, which are surrounded by their Naga Hill people, with a traditional way
of living. Happy together and suffering together!
